Nov. 4, 2024 ~ The Olathe Board of Education will hold its regular meeting at 5:45 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 7 in the Education Center, 14160 S. Black Bob Road, Olathe.  

Anyone wishing to address the board at the regular meeting should email Clerk of the Board Barb Behm before noon on Thursday, Nov. 7. See our Rules for Public Comment webpage for details.  

The regular meeting will begin with the Pledge of Allegiance led by students from Meadow Lane Elementary School, followed by the board adopting their meeting agenda.  

The board will recognize longtime former Board of Education member and district supporter Ruth Ann Hackler, community partner Johnson County Parks and Recreation and National Merit Semifinalists.  

Three presentations are planned: school spotlight on Meadow Lane Elementary School, American Education Week celebration of all education workers, and update on the new Operations Service Center and Career and Technical Education Center project.  

Prior to acting on the consent agenda, the board will hold an executive session to discuss non-elected personnel. Then board members will act on a consent agenda of routine items as well as nearly a dozen bids, contracts and agreements before acting on board policy updates. Board members will receive information on about a dozen future action items and three written reports.  

Three additional executive sessions are planned for the board to consult with the district's attorney, discuss a student, and to discuss non-elected personnel.
