5-2-22 — Olathe Culture Fest Scheduled for May 14

May 2, 2022 ~ Join Olathe Public Schools and the Olathe Human Relations Commission for the Olathe Culture Fest on Saturday, May 14 from 1-5 p.m. at the Olathe Housing Authority parking lot (200 W. Santa Fe St.). The event will feature food trucks, music, live performances and a free car show. All makes and models of cars, trucks, bikes and motorcycles are accepted. All car show registrations will be a donation to the district's Lowrider Bike Club to support their ongoing work with Olathe students.

“The Olathe Culture Fest offers an opportunity for our community to experience the cultures that make Olathe a great place to live,” said Erik Erazo, executive director of diversity and engagement for Olathe Public Schools. “This year, the school district had over 85 languages represented among the student body. We are excited to celebrate this diversity through this inaugural event, which was made possible in collaboration with the Olathe Human Relations Committee, the Olathe Police Department, and the Olathe Fire Department. Moreover, the Olathe Leadership Lowrider Bike Club is sponsoring a car show, with Mayor John Bacon joining in on the fun as a judge for the awards. This is an event we hope to continue each year, so that Olathe residents can get to know their neighbors through music, food, and live performances.”
