4-9-19 — Discussing Options, Alternatives for Guardianship

April 9, 2019 ~ The Olathe Public Schools Special Services Site Council will host a free seminar for parents of students with special education needs. "Supported Decision Making: Options and Alternatives to Kansas Guardianship" is the topic of the Thursday, April 25 meeting which begins at 6:30 p.m. in the Instructional Resource Center, 14090 Black Bob Road, Olathe.

Elizabeth Moran, founder and managing attorney for Midwest Advocacy for Disability Rights, is the featured presenter. She will discuss her support of community inclusion and the self-advocacy movement, which is dedicated to assisting individuals with disabilities and their families navigate the legal system and pursue the most appropriate means of support.

Sign language and Spanish interpreters for this seminar can be requested by calling Sally Boyd in Special Services at 913-780-8170 at least three days in advance of the seminar. There is no need to RSVP for the seminar.
