2-6-19 — Creating Financial Security for Loved One with Special Needs
Feb. 7, 2019 ~ The Olathe Public Schools Special Services Site Council will host a free seminar for parents of students with special education needs. "Creating Financial Security for a Loved One with Special Needs" is the topic of the Thursday, Feb. 21 meeting which begins at 6:30 p.m. in the Instructional Resource Center, 14090 Black Bob Road, Olathe.
Kacy Seitz and Debbie Niemann, financial advisors with Northwestern Mutual, will show attendees how to build a team, cover the key aspects to a special needs plan, and protect benefits and services. Each presenter has a child with special needs, and the advisors’ specialty is helping families with a child who has disabilities prepare for two generations of financial security.
The next session will be April 25. The topic is "Supported Decision Making: Options and Alternative to Kansas Guardianship."
Sign language and Spanish interpreters for these seminars can be requested by calling Sally Boyd in Special Services at 913-780-8170 at least three days in advance of the seminar. There is no need to RSVP for the seminars.
