2-21-24 — Olathe Crowns 2024 Spelling Bee Champion

Feb. 21, 2024 ~ Mission Trail Middle School eighth grader Emory Jobe won the Olathe Spelling Bee and will represent the district at the Scripps National Spelling Bee.

Emory holds her spelling bee trophyMore than 45 students competed in the bee, with representatives from all Olathe Public Schools elementary and middle schools. The winning word was “incinerate.”

"Congratulations to Emory Jobe and all of our super spellers who participated in today’s Bee,” Superintendent Dr. Brent Yeager said. “You should all be very proud of yourselves! Emory, we will be cheering you on at the National Spelling Bee!”

Jobe will compete in the 2024 Scripps National Spelling Bee at the Gaylord National Resort & Convention Center in the Washington, D.C. area May 26-31. The Olathe Public Schools and the Olathe Public Schools Foundation sponsor the Olathe Spelling Bee.
