Santa Fe Trail Yearbook Earns Award

The Santa Fe Trail Middle School 2019-20 school yearbook was named a Gold Medalist by the Columbia Scholastic Press Association.

“I love what I do and getting to share that joy and enthusiasm with my students,” said Santa Fe Trail yearbook sponsor Melissa Erker. “I am so fortunate to work with a group of students who aren’t afraid to work hard and are dedicated to creating a lasting memento of their time at Santa Fe Trail. I am beyond proud of them and my school.”

Olathe Student Receives National Accolade

Olathe North High School senior Khushi Kohli was one of 300 students named as a scholar in the Regeneron Science Talent Search. Kohli’s project, titled “Dynamics of Brain Metastasis in Non-Small Cell Lung Cancer,” will make her the beneficiary of a $2,000 award with an additional $2,000 going to Olathe North.

“This is quite the honor for Khushi as she continues to amaze us with all her recognitions,” Olathe North Principal Jason Herman said. “Khushi works so hard and it is paying off. The staff at Olathe North is so proud of her and how she represents our school.”

Khushi is a member of the Olathe North Science Bee, Distinguished Scholars Academy, Science Olympiad, Science Bowl, Scholars Bowl and National Honor Society.
