7-8-19 — Board Sets Agenda for July Meeting

July 8, 2019 ~ The Olathe Board of Education will hold its first meeting of the new fiscal year at 6 p.m. Thursday, July 11 in the Education Center, 14161 S. Black Bob Road, Olathe. First on the agenda is to name a board president and vice president for the new school year.

Due to recent changes in legislation, the board will consider options for appointing school board officers for the next school year.

The board will also name a clerk, deputy clerk, treasurer and school attorney before taking public comments.

Board members will vote on action items including the consent agenda, bids, contracts and agreements, and set their regular meeting dates and times for the 2019-20 school year. The agenda includes appointing board representatives to the Olathe Head Start Policy Council Board and the Olathe Public Schools Foundation Board, as well as to the Kansas Association of School Boards and the KASB Governmental Relations Network.

Board members will receive information on future action items and unencumbered cash balances as of July 1.

The board will discuss employer-employee negotiations during an executive session.
