Feb. 11, 2025 ~ Due to the substantial amount of snow predicted over the next several days and the operational impact to safely clear campuses, Olathe Public Schools will be closed on the following days: 

Wednesday, Feb. 12, 2025 – Olathe Public Schools Closed, Follow Plan A

1. Olathe Public Schools will be closed on Wednesday, Feb. 12, 2025. We will be following “Plan A” where all district buildings will be closed and facility rental and JCPRD childcare are also cancelled. View a detailed overview of Inclement Weather Plan A.
2. Conferences: As noted on the 2024-25 district calendar, parent/teacher conferences planned for this Wednesday, Feb. 12 will be rescheduled for next week on Wednesday, Feb. 19 from 4:30-8:30 p.m. Please note that while Feb. 12 was scheduled as a half-day of school for students, Feb. 19 will be a full day of school for students.

Thursday, Feb. 13, 2025 – Olathe Public Schools Closed, Follow Plan B

1. Olathe Public Schools will be closed on Thursday, Feb. 13, 2025. While students are not scheduled to be in school this Thursday due to conferences, staff members will follow a “Plan B” day. View a detailed overview of Inclement Weather Plan B.
2. Facilities/Rentals: All district facilities are closed and facility rental is cancelled.
3. JCPRD: is OPEN at the 12 consolidated locations for families who are pre-registered. View locations at https://www.jcprd.com/1600/Olathe-Consolidated-Locations.
4. Conferences: If you have any conferences scheduled for Thursday, Feb. 13, your child’s teacher will be in contact to reschedule those conferences, either virtually or in-person, by the end of the day on Friday, Feb. 21, 2025.
5. Activities/Athletics: All elementary/middle school activities and athletics are cancelled. Decisions on high school athletics/activities will be communicated by 1 p.m. on Thursday.
6. Spelling Bee: The Spelling Bee will be held on Thursday, Feb. 13, 2025 at Santa Fe Trail Middle School, but the event will delayed by two hours. Students should report at 9:45 a.m. for check-in and the event will begin at 10:30 a.m. Additional information will be shared with participant families and volunteers shortly.
