3-12-19 — Mental Health Seminar to Feature Documentary about Survival
March 12, 2019 ~ The Olathe School District, in partnership with the Behavioral Health Awareness Alliance, will present a special documentary film for its next parent mental health seminar. “Suicide — The Ripple Effect” will be shown at 7 p.m. Tuesday, April 2, at Prairie Trail Middle School, 21600 W. 107th Street, Olathe.
The documentary film highlights the journey of Kevin Hines who, at age 19, attempted to take his life by jumping from the Golden Gate Bridge. Today, Hines is a world-renowned mental health advocate, motivational speaker and author who travels the world spreading a message of hope, recovery and wellness.
Through sharing stories of survival and recovery, the audience will gain an awareness of this health crisis, while helping people find the support needed to stay alive and heal.
District counselors and representatives from the Johnson County Suicide Prevention Coalition will be available.
No RSVP is necessary. Child care will not be provided.
