June 27, 2024 ~ The Olathe Board of Education met June 26 for its end of fiscal year meeting.

The board approved the June regular meeting minutes, accounts payable and human resources reports. Board members also approved end-of-year transactions including the transfer of expenditures to the contingency reserve fund. They authorized Chief Financial Officer John Hutchison to make necessary adjustments to the transactions to close fiscal year 2024.

The board held three executive sessions — two for the purpose of discussing non-elected personnel, and one to consult with the district’s attorney.

Following the executive sessions, the board voted to extend Superintendent Dr. Brent Yeager’s contract starting July 1, 2024.
