Dec. 2, 2024 ~ The Olathe Board of Education will hold its regular meeting at 5:45 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 5 in the Education Center, 14160 S. Black Bob Road, Olathe. 

Anyone wishing to address the board at the regular meeting should email Clerk of the Board Barb Behm before noon Thursday, Dec. 5. See our Rules for Public Comment webpage for details.  

The regular meeting will begin with the Pledge of Allegiance led by students from California Trail Middle School, followed by the board adopting their meeting agenda.  

The board will recognize the valued partnership with Olathe Public Schools Foundation, four state sports champions, Kansas School Psychologist of the Year, and district Math Wings champions.  

Three presentations are planned: an audit review for fiscal year 2024, school spotlight on California Trail Middle School, and an update on implementation of the new cell phone policy at each level.  

The board will act on a consent agenda of routine items as well as a half-dozen bids, contracts and agreements. They will also act on board policy updates and the audited financial statements for the fiscal year ended June 30. Board members will receive information on nearly two dozen future action items and four written reports.  

Two executive sessions are planned for the board to discuss a student and to discuss non-elected personnel.
