10-10-18 — Special Event Celebrates Athletic Trainers at Upcoming Games

Oct. 10, 2018 ~ Athletic trainers are an important piece to the safety and health of student athletes in the Olathe School District. Olathe Health is a partner committed to providing the best care of students by providing athletic trainers for each of our high schools.

As part of a statewide initiative, the Kansas Athletic Trainers’ Society (KATS) is sponsoring a Safety in Football campaign in order to share tips and directions on how teams can improve safety, lessen the risk of injury and keep focus on the fun and camaraderie of football.

Athletic trainers specialize in the prevention, examination, diagnosis, treatment and rehabilitation of emergent, acute and chronic injuries and medical conditions. The athletic trainers working with student-athletes in Kansas high schools help ensure the safety and well-being of all participants.

For upcoming games in October, the importance of safety and the role of athletic trainers will be celebrated with a special pregame coin toss.
