7-9-18 — Board to Elect President for New School Year

July 9, 2018 ~ The Olathe Board of Education will hold its first meeting of the new fiscal year at 6 p.m. Thursday, July 12. Topping the agenda is the election of a board president and vice president for the new school year.

The board will also name a clerk, deputy clerk, treasurer, and school attorney before addressing various items on the consent agenda.

Action items include adopting the 1,116-hour policy, designating an inclement weather day, designating the official district newspaper, various appointments and designations, instructional materials and textbooks, student trips, and various resolutions. The board is expected to take action on the 2018-19 school resource officer agreement, various bids and contracts, its 2018-19 meeting schedule, and appointments to various organizations.

Board members will receive information on future action items and unencumbered cash balances as of July 1.

An executive session is planned so the board can have a preliminary discussion relating to the acquisition of real estate.
