4-5-18 — Simulations Help Parents Understand Life with Special Needs

April 5, 2018 ~ The Olathe Public Schools Special Services Site Council will host a free seminar for parents of students with special education needs. "Maybe If I Just Try Harder: Experiencing the Challenges of a Student with a Learning Disability" is the topic of the Thursday, April 19 meeting which begins at 6:30 p.m. in the Instructional Resource Center, 14090 S. Black Bob Road, Olathe.

Executive Director of Special Services Lanie Fasulo will take parents and staff through a series of simulations based on the work of leading expert Dr. Richard Lavoie. The simulations will help participants experience the frustration, anxiety and tension involved in being a student with a learning disability.
