2-26-18 — Five Presentations Top March Board Agenda

Feb. 26, 2018 ~ Five information presentations are planned for the March 1 Olathe Board of Education meeting which begins at 6 p.m. in the Education Center, 14160 S. Black Bob Road, Olathe.

First on the agenda is the recognition of a community partner, as well as several students and teachers for their recent accomplishments.

The information presentations include a report on Read Across America Day activities (March 2), an overview of overnight trip requests for students, a demonstration of the district mobile app, a look at the school redesign process for Westview Elementary and Santa Fe Trail Middle schools, and a look at safety and security in the Olathe Public Schools.

The board will address a number of action items including the consent agenda, bids / contracts / agreements, budget development goals and calendar, and various fees for the 2018-19 school year.

More than a dozen future action items will be shared with board members, as will the monthly Head Start director’s report.

The board plans to hold an executive session to discuss employee performance and personnel changes.
