    The Ellis Foundation is pleased to announce the addition of skilled trade scholarships to our program.   

    Kansas Skilled Trade Scholarship
    In partnership with The Patterson Family Foundation.

    Eligibility Guidelines 
    •    Kansas rural residents pursuing a non-medical skilled trade program at one of our participating Kansas colleges** 
    •    Non-traditional students as well as current high school seniors are welcome to apply for this scholarship 
    Application Process 
    •    Request application information by completing this form
    •    If you are a current high school senior, please complete the application in its entirety 
    •    If you are a non-traditional student, please complete the application as best you can, we recognize some portions of the application are more tailored to high school seniors 
    •    Application opens on December 1 and will remain open until February 15 
    •    Not all applicants will be selected for an interview, interviews will be conducted by zoom and finalists will be notified by April 1 
    Scholarship Specifics: 
    •    Scholarship awards are typically up to $4,000 per year, for up to two consecutive years, total amount awarded will depend on whether you are enrolled in a one or two-year program 
    •    All monies are paid directly to the university for college-billed expenses only  
    •    We will consider applications for those attending technical schools in Kansas, and priority is given to those attending a technical program at one of our participating Kansas colleges, this list includes technical schools and community colleges across the state: Partnering Colleges & Universities - The Ellis Foundation

    Please make a note of your password. Once submitted, you will be brought to the scholarship application. We hope to have this function working properly again shortly.

  • Rotary Club Scholarship $1,000

    The Olathe Rotary Club upholds the purpose of Rotary International by its members' involvement in community service activities.  The two Olathe Rotary Clubs will award a $1,000 scholarship to one graduating senior at each of the Olathe Public High Schools who has demonstrated involvement in community service activities and meets specific criteria. Qualifying criteria and application can be found at the link below.

    Requirements to apply:

    • Must be a citizen of the United States
    • Must have a minimum cumulative GPA of 2.5
    • Must have taken the ACT or SAT college entrance exam
    • Must plan to enroll in an accredited two-year or four-year trade school, college or university
    • Need to turn in an official high school transcript
    • Must have 2 letters of recommendation
    • Essay – Describe your involvement in a community service project and the manner in which this experience has impacted you.

  • OATC Scholarships $1,000 per program

    Scholarships will be awarded to students who are outgoing seniors participating in programs with the Olathe Advanced Technical Center.

    • An outgoing and involved Senior student from OATC
    • Cumulative GPA of 2.5 at home high school
    • Cumulative GPA or at least 3.0 at OATC
    • Attend post-secondary education in a CTE program
    • Participated in school leadership
    • Essay – write a 150-word essay on your career goals, why these goals are important to you, and what resources will be used to obtain these goals.
    • Two letters of recommendation from staff members at your home high school
      (these cannot be from your current OATC instructors)

  • Garrett Large Auto Collision Scholarship $500 - $700

    The J. Garrett Large Scholarship was created in memory of Olathe student Garrett Large, who lost his life in a motorcycle accident in 2007, his junior year at Olathe North.  The scholarship supports graduating seniors who participated in the Auto Collision program at the Olathe Advanced Technical Center.

    Requirements to apply:

    • An outgoing and involved 2nd year student from OATC
    • Passion for Auto Collision
    • Exhibit leadership skills
    • Provide documentation of your community service hours
    • Attend post-secondary education in an Auto Collision program
    • Essay – complete a 150-word essay on your career goals

  • McCown Gordan Construction Scholarship $1,000

  • KS CTE Scholar Full Tuition to JCCC

    Kansas CTE Scholar applications are due by March 1, 2022. The updated Kansas CTE Scholar Guide includes a checklist and online application link.

    Qualifications:

    • Must be a graduating senior
    • Completed (or upon success completion of current course enrollment) 3.0 CTE credits with at least 2.0 of above the introductory level. Credits can be earned across pathways.
    • GPA in CTE Courses above the introductory level must be 3.5 or higher
    • Technical skill attainment
    • Civic engagement or outstanding community service
    • Work based learning experience

  • Olathe Public Schools Foundation Scholarships

    The Olathe Public Schools Foundation works to support students and teachers across the district every day. The OPSF scholarship program continues to support high school seniors as they graduate and pursue additional education and training. In cooperation with private donors, the Olathe Public Schools Foundation offers more than 40 scholarships for Olathe seniors, including scholarships for specific areas of interest, including visual and performing arts, medicine, education and career and technical education programs.
