What is “District Support”?
“District Support” includes any monetary support the District may provide for an educator to attend an Out-of-District professional learning activity including registration fees, travel expenses, and substitute costs. “District Support” also includes providing professional leave for attendance. If an educator is requesting “District Support” the CERT: Out-of-District Professional Activity request form should be submitted in Frontline Professional Growth. Professional Development points for attending the activity will be awarded for relicensure only after the educator has completed the evaluation and marked the activity “complete” in Frontline.

What are the guidelines for out-of-district activities?
Requests for out-of-district professional activities must align to goals on the district Strategic Plan, goals on district or building-level Professional Learning Plans, or requirements of regulatory processes. Participants of approved activities will be expected to bring new learning back to the district by developing professional learning to be shared with others.

How do I complete the Out-of-District Form?
Many guidelines and details are included in the information that appears on the Frontline form. Please be sure to read the information included on the form as you are completing it. Some key details, Please be sure to include travel time on your request as well as the time(s) for the activity. Include any account numbers that you may have been provided on the form for specific expenses. Be sure to use a district purchasing card to pay for expenses that have been approved for the activity. Please note that estimated expenses should be as accurate as possible. In the “Impact” section, please indicate how you, your students, and the district will be impacted by your participation in the activity. What new learning do you hope to gain and how will you bring that new learning back to the district?
