Understanding the Basics of an IEP

The Olathe Public Schools Special Services Site Council will host a free seminar for parents of students with disabilities and exceptionalities. “The Basics of an IEP” is the topic of the Tuesday, Nov. 18 Zoom meeting. Join the Zoom presentation by 6:30 p.m.

Dr. Kathy Otto, a past special education administrator and teacher, will be joined by Sarah Otto, current managing director of Targeted Case Management of Kansas, to present this session. They will guide parents through the Individualized Education Program. Information will be shared on how to determine individual goals for the student, positive problem solving, and maintaining a student-centered IEP meeting.

Anyone who needs a sign language or foreign language interpreter to participate must contact Sally Boyd at 913-780-8170 or email her before Nov. 4. There is no need to RSVP for the Zoom seminar.
