Special Services Parent Information Session April 21

The Olathe Public Schools Special Services Site Council will host a free seminar for parents of students with disabilities and exceptionalities. “Financial Planning for Students with Disabilities, Including Navigating Medicaid” is the topic of the Tuesday, April 21 Zoom meeting. Join the Zoom presentation by 6:30 p.m.

Ivailo Grigorov, financial advisor with Northwestern Mutual, will provide an overview of Supplemental Security Income (SSI), special needs trusts, Social Security Disability Insurance (SSDI), Medicaid and waivers, ABLE accounts and other important considerations. Planning for a child with special needs is unique both legally and financially, so this presentation systematically covers ways to enhance well-being for the child. Grigorov will share personal stories of his family’s journey and specific tactics they used to ensure lifetime care and quality of life issues are properly addressed.
