Professional Council

The Professional Council works in partnership with the Board of Education to promote educational excellence and uphold the requirements of the Professional Negotiations Act. Serving as a communication hub between Olathe NEA and district leadership, the council discusses and advises on key district matters, including staff recruitment and retention. By addressing compensation, work conditions, and student learning, the council plays a vital role in supporting educators and enhancing the overall educational environment.

Comprised of 12 members, the council includes six representatives from Olathe NEA, appointed by the ONEA president, and six representatives from district administration, selected by the superintendent. Through collaboration and consensus-driven decision-making, the council ensures that the voices of educators and administrators are heard in shaping policies that impact both staff and students.
