Mentoring and Induction Program

We are committed to helping new educators thrive from day one through a comprehensive Mentoring and Induction Program. From onboarding and orientation to ongoing coaching and professional development, our goal is to accelerate teacher effectiveness and support student success. Every new certified staff member is paired with a district-level Instructional Coach and has access to continued learning through our EPIC Learning Series, which includes topics like classroom management, student engagement, and even the option to pursue a master’s degree. Our program also provides support for licensure and meets Kansas State Mentoring Guidelines.

Student Loan Forgiveness

Public Service Loan Forgiveness (PSLF)

The Public Service Loan Forgiveness (PSLF) Program provides eligible employees with the opportunity to have the remaining balance on their Direct or Direct Plus Loans forgiven after making 120 qualifying monthly payments under an eligible repayment plan, such as Income-Based Repayment (IBR). To qualify, employees must work full-time for a qualifying public service employer, such as an elementary or secondary school or a Head Start program.

This program is open to all employees with Direct Loans, including Federal Direct Subsidized and Unsubsidized Loans, Stafford Loans, or Federal Direct Plus Loans. There is no cap on the forgiveness amount, and service does not need to be consecutive to qualify.

Teacher Loan Forgiveness (TLF)

Full-time teachers with five complete and consecutive years of teaching experience in a designated elementary or secondary school that serves students from low-income families.

  • May forgive for five consecutive years of service
  • Open to only teachers working at Title 1 schools. Go to the Federal Student Aid website to check school eligibility status
  • Teachers with Federal Direct Loans or Stafford Loans are eligible for up to $17,500 forgiven if they are highly qualified full-time math or science teachers in an eligible secondary school
  • Elementary or secondary teachers who teach in an area related to their academic major are eligible for up to $5,000 forgiven
  • Loans originating prior to October 1, 1998 are not eligible
