Prairie Learning Center

Prairie Learning Center is a special day school that helps students grow academically, socially, and emotionally in a caring, supportive environment located at 10975 Lone Elm Rd. Olathe, KS 66061.

Our philosophy is to provide academic programming through instructional methods and a culture built around caring relationships, motivation, individualization, acceptance, and innovation.

Transition back to each student’s home school environment is supported by preparing students behaviorally, emotionally, and academically, while also ensuring schools and the broader community are equipped to work successfully with students who face challenges. A nurturing and positive environment supports the development of socially acceptable behaviors and guides students toward improved social skills that foster respect and meaningful, rewarding relationships, while honoring a wide range of abilities.

We collaborate closely with families to establish educational and behavioral priorities and to meet student needs, which may include referrals to appropriate social service agencies. Through all of this, we provide a structured alternative learning community designed to enhance safety and promote student success in school.
