The Spot will be open this summer at the Mill Creek Campus gym, 300 E. Loula St. in Olathe on the following dates and times:
- Tuesday-Thursday, June 11-13, from 12-4 p.m.
- Thursday, June 20, from 12-4 p.m.
- Tuesday-Thursday, June 25-27, from 12-4 p.m.
The Spot is a free after-school program for students in grades 6 through 12, hosted in partnership with various community partners including Olathe Public Schools, Olathe Public Library, Johnson County Mental Health, Johnson County Department of Corrections, Drug Enforcement Administration, Olathe Fire Department, and Olathe Police Department. This program offers homework support, mentorship, snacks, and a fun and safe environment for students to play and socialize with their peers.
Amenities include an indoor recreation area (arcade-style games, pool table, ping pong), a game room (e-sports with gaming systems PlayStation 5, Nintendo Switch, Xbox One), an outdoor basketball court, a Music Studio, a small library (in partnership with the Olathe Public Library), and a homework support room with laptops.
