Developmental Screenings
If you suspect your child has a developmental delay, the district can complete a developmental screening at no cost to you. Screenings include developmental testing for all areas (cognition, motor, social, communication, and adaptive). The Olathe Public Schools conducts free developmental screenings for all children who reside in the district ages 3-5 years (not eligible for kindergarten) when there are concerns about the child's development in one or more of the following areas:
- Large and small motor movements
- Speech and language
- Self-help skills
- Early learning skills
- Behavior and social
- Hearing and vision
Screenings are held at Harmony and Heartland early childhood centers throughout the school year. Parents who have concerns about the development of their child should complete the information below and they will be contacted to schedule a preschool screening.
