Who We Are
Located at the Olathe Public Schools Innovation Campus, the Electronics & Avionics Academy helps prepare students with the knowledge and skills necessary for continued education and, ultimately, a successful career in the field of Electronics. Electronics technicians apply electronic theory, electrical testing procedures and related knowledge to layout, build, test, troubleshoot, repair, and overhaul electronic equipment. A technician might service hospital equipment (Biomedical Equipment Technician), overhaul aviation products for Garmin, the industrial controls on a factory floor, repair missile control systems for the government, or specialize in cars and trucks, installing and repairing sound and alarm systems. Many industries today, from manufacturing to telecommunications, depend on electrical equipment as well as the people who keep that equipment running safely and efficiently.
Students must be in good standing, demonstrate professionalism, and have good attendance. They must have a 2.0 GPA in Algebra I.
What We Do
Students will collaborate with educational and industrial institutions to access advanced learning and employment opportunities, while classroom and laboratory instruction incorporates the practical skills needed to succeed in the workplace.
