    Executive Reports

    President - Beth Riekeman

    • The year where nothing is how it was "done before"
    • Emailed update from BSA
    • Renewing insurance - Carmen motioned to approve the renewal and Lizzie second. MOTION PASSED

    Vice President - Carmen McDowell

    Treasurer - Cari Bates

    Last Year - 2019-20 Wrap Up

    • Not writing a field trip check typically paid in May. Saves 8,300 from budget.
    • Rolling commitment to Genius Lab foward, $3,000
    • Modified Stampede 2020 netted over $22,000

    Changes - 2021

    • Stipend/BrainPop expense $13,850 last year. Mr. O taking Brain Pop to the building budget saving PTO $2,550. Dropping grade level stipends from $800 to $500. Full time teachers from $200 to $150.
    • Update favorite things sheets to include typical classroom wish list items traditionally posted outside classroom doors
    • Recruiting one liaison per class still. Need to determine how along with room parent(s) to have two volunteers per class. A sign up genius will be made and sent from the teacher

    Room Parent Coordinators - April Tebbe and Jenny Zygmunt

    • Still collect $10 per student, but no huge push. Siphon funds to teachers for classrooms perks. An email to all RP students, with the Venmo account will go out asking for the $10.
    • Have one contact per class teacher to reach out to for legwork requests. A sign up genius will be made and sent out by the teachers.

    Scrip's - Vicky Herman

    • Normal-ish to past years
    • Order due dates proposed for this year:
      • November 13th
      • February 5th
      • April 2nd

    Parental Involvement - Mandy Howard and Billie Woods

    • Playing it by ear. Open to creative community building ideas.
    • A possible drive thru donut day (or something packaged), decorate cars

    Public Relations/Publicity - Brandy Seidel

    • If you need to post something to the Regency Place PTO facebook page and can not, let me know. I have added the new PTO committee heads so check your facebook to accept the invite.

    Spirit Wear - Karen Kennedy

    • Possible designs being finalized
    • Online store open in mid-October
    • Possible face mask with RP logo

    Yearbook - Elizabeth Humburg

    • Brainstorm a plan.
    • Pen pals between remote and in-person learners.
    • More creative pushes for photo sources - parents, Mr. O social media, teachers from in person

    Lion Stampede - Lizzie Haag (2020) Sarah Reynolds (2021)

    • Sell Stampede shirts at back-to-school time. Hoping for spirit days on Fridays or something to encourage t-shirt sales with no S-A-P, BTS Night, or kindergarten parent meetings.
    • No 2020 Stampede.
    • Sponsors contacted early in early August to communicate new a plan and solicit advertising items for the race bags.
    • Week of 9/21: Spirit Week - wear those shirts, figure out how to distribute race bags.
    • One last Facebook pimp of sponsors.
    • Thank you bags to sponsors delivered.
    • Holding off on recruiting committtee and making any plans for 2021 until January when we will spring into action.

    General Reports

    • Sign Gypsies the 1st week of school. Kids can come up and take pictures.
    • There will be special things for kinder and 1st graders.
    • Zoom back to school with the teachers Wed. Sept. 2 with 2 identical sessions.

    • Spring submission was not as good as Fall. Our paper submission will be $88.90

    • 20th celebration success! Thank you
    • Restaurant night rotation- Brandy will do a FB poll with Panera, Blaze Pizza, Freddies, other option to see what other places people would want
    • December 3rd- social plan- bring $20 or less favorite item to Beth’s.

    • First Day School Supplies ready for us to commit to next year. We made $166 last year- 83 kits sold last year.

    • Likes/posts on PTO page are coming along and seem to be reaching people. 
    • Remind people to “like” page so they can be updated.

    • Three new families enrolled in September and October; welcome signs distributed in late October
    • Welcome sign redesign is in progress; will share with board for review prior to using for 2020-2021 school year

    Scrips: Vickie Herman

    • Form home Nov 4th for orders on Nov 15th. 
    • Orders go home to families before Thanksgiving
    • Christi and Cari will do a FB video on how to order. 
    • Email the Parent/Teacher Liaisons that this is a good time to get gift card for your teachers.

    Box Tops: Christi Estey

    • App earning to date are $63.40
    • Submitted the physical box tops for the fall turn in on Halloween, which totaled $271.60, so our earnings this school year total $335.

    • Don’t forget to submit Halloween and 20 year anniversary party pictures to email
    • Sold 168 books so far.

    • Winter parties held Friday Dec 20th following Jingle Jam

    • Conference meal was great- excellent participation for desserts/drinks. 
    • We are in the process of collecting Specialist $$ from the Liaisons, which also tells us the total $ from each class.
    • We are considering different options for December TA event; has been cocoa/coffee and cookies the past few years. Would love to have any ideas.  

    Community Service: Sarah Reynolds

    • All school event plan- backpack snacks for Mission South Side (non perishable items that go home with kids at need).  Need 250-500
    • Dec Wednesday 11 4-6:30
    • Will need to double bag with plastic bags so a donation cart will be out so people can start bringing them in.  
    • 3rd grade is Starfish Project

    • First all committee meeting- Nov 19 6:30
    • Key players meeting happened in October
    • New and exciting bounce houses booked
    • Raffle/Auction items starting to materialize
    • Moving towards more winners with smaller and more consumable prizes
    • Looking for theme ideas.

    Restaurant night, Stampede events, various sources, optional giving opportunities benefiting others (not RP)

    • Beth, Cari, Christi and Brandy revised his list and simplified it.

  • PTO Executive Board - October 1, 2019

    • Party fees/stampede fees are still rolling in.  Out of 398 students, 361 have paid. 
    • Spirit wear check should be coming in soon. 
    • School supply check of $166 is in. 

    Committee Reports

    Box Tops: Christi Estey

    • Online earnings are at $48.50. 
    • Nov 1st for fall submission/check cut off
    • Collection each Friday this month to collect all of the closet to expired tops and submit. 
    • Email grocery receipts if you shop for groceries online, you can now submit your email receipts from select retailers Steps:
      • Create an online account or download the app. 
      • Forward your email receipt to receipts@boxtops4education.com using the same associated with your BTFE account. 
      • Box Tops will be credited within 10 business days and viewable on the BTFE app.
    • Scan for your school makeover- scan your receipt on the Box Top App for a chance to win a $20,000 school makeover. 5 schools will win. Scan by Nov 15th to enter, be sure you have selected RPE as your school. 
    • I will continue to post Box Top opportunities on both the RPE parents facebook page and the Official RPE PTO facebook page. 
    • You can now “Give Credit” to an individual, classroom or grade level. You can scan your receipt then tap the star icon to enter the “Give Credit” memo. This could be a way to track by grade/teacher in the future if we choose. There is a report that can be run to quickly tally by class/grade.

    • Recruiting 3rd grade project lead

    • Gathering ads and data dump (request has been sent to district)
    • Jenny getting list of Party Planners together for directory

    Lion Stampede: Lizzie Haag

    • Survey in progress- received 40 or so back.
    • First all committee meeting is Nov 9th
    • A lot of people have signed up to help on the committee

    • Form home Nov 4th for order on Nov 15th. 
    • PTO will order $250 in cards for Mr O for random giveaways.

    • Christi handed over all the signage to Kristin.

    • Halloween party planning in the works. Keep ears open to any classes/grades needing assistance. 
    • Party funds are still tricklining. Got $30 last week.

    • Delivered Sept 19/20
    • Made $440+  Sparkles were a big hit. 


    Teacher Appreciation:  Ruth Chan and Bekah Bayer

    • Conference dinner- Thursday Oct 17 tentatively Chick-Fil-A. Sign up will go for desserts- may need to have PTO help with this.
    • Liaisons are collecting $$ for gifts- seems to be going well. 
    • There is a concern that some liaisons are asking for money more than once. An email will be sent asking if this is because not all the money was collected in the first place. 

    Yearbook:  Elizabeth Humburg

    • Sold 160 yearbooks thus far! Will continue to have periodic FB post and reminds in Friday FActs. 
    • Anyone ordering in October receives a 10% discount. 
    • Use rpschoolyearbook@gmail.com to email any pictures for the yearbook.

    • Working on 20 year anniversary celebration- meeting right after PTO meeting tonight.

    EXECUTIVE REPORTS

    President – Beth Riekeman

    • Committee volunteers – distributed and I’ll contact AdHoc next week

    • Paper copies for review.
    • Have paid $11,300 ($4,800 in grade level stipends and $6,500 teacher stipends, $200 FT/$100 PT
    • Have collected all but 118 class party fees. The fee increased to $10 from $6 with the extra $4 going to soda/candy for Stampede
    • Insurance $490 same amount as last year- 
    • BrainPop $2,550- will be paid early Nov. 

    COMMITTEE REPORTS

    Hospitality – Christi Estey

    • Distributed 81 signs between new families to RPE and kindergartners.
    • Next Year – Consider a different format for the signs for apartments so that the student / family can see the part that states it is from Mr. O and PTO.

    Box Tops – Christi Estey

    • Download the app! BTE is moving toward all app based, no more clipping. However, can get double for scanning a receipt and clipping a box top item.
    • Collect monthly to turn in close to expired box tops.
    • $18.90 from app as of 2:00 p.m. today
    • Info sheet to go home via Friday Facts about the app

    Spirit Wear – Karen Kennedy

    • Order online by September 1st – regencyplace.itemorder.com
    • Last year we sold 138 pieces, this year we are at 111 and the deadline is Sept 1. Orders should be in mid Sept.

    • Ordering on-line with Treering.  15% discount through September 30th 
    • The 5th graders will be voting on the template soon

    20th Anniversary celebration- a teacher committee is in place. Looking at  Friday Oct 25. Discussion of what afternoon activities to have included video montage, alumni, asking kids to bring $0.20 to purchase a gift for the school a parade with floats with grade levels themes and the time capsule contents on display.  If you have other ideas, let Mr. O know. 

    Genius lab put together teacher committee regarding what we need etc.  Will coordinate with Carmen and Mrs Worrell.
