Jon Renberger joined Olathe West from Olathe South where he taught College Preparatory English IV and head coached the girls’ and boys’ tennis teams for nine years. At Olathe West, he teaches English III and CP English IV. He was born and raised in McPherson, Kansas, is a 1990 graduate of the University of Kansas, and has a Master of Arts in School Leadership from Baker. He has 28 years of head high school and collegiate tennis coaching experience, is a United States National Tennis Association certified professional, and recently was the head tennis pro at Lake Quivira Country Club. At Olathe South, he became and still is a Kansas Tennis Coaches Association Board member, was the State of Kansas 6A Boys’ Coach of the Year in 2012 after leading OS to it first ever boys' regional title, was a Regional COY four times, and was an NAIA Champions of Character COY nominee in 2014. During ten years at Lawrence Free State High School, his teams won numerous Sunflower League and 6A regional titles, were state runners-up three times, and he coached two All-American singles players and four state champions. He was the Lawrence Public Schools COY in 2002 and 2008, State of Kansas Overall Girls’ COY in 2002, and the National Federation of State High School Associations Kansas Girls’ COY in 2003. He also head coached tennis for one year each at Nickerson High School, Sumner Academy, and Olathe North. His collegiate coaching experience includes two years as the head men’s coach at Ottawa University, when at 22, he was the youngest collegiate head tennis coach in the country, and two years as the head men’s and women’s coach at the University of Saint Mary. Coach Renberger lives in Overland Park with his wife, Dionne, and their children.
