Knowledge Points FAQs
-
How do I earn knowledge points?
Knowledge points are based on new learning related to a previously submitted Action Plan. Knowledge points may be submitted for activities aligned to the SMART goal of an Action Plan including professional reading and research, attending conferences, participating in webinars, and engaging in collaborative learning with colleagues. Knowledge points are awarded at the rate of one hour equals one knowledge level point. Points are recorded at a minimum of one and then in half-point increments after the first point.

How do I submit knowledge points?
To submit for Knowledge points as part of a current Action Plan, select the “Forms” tab in Frontline Professional Growth. Select either CERT: Knowledge Points or Log: CERT: Knowledge Points. Complete the form and submit. Please note that the “Log” option requires an additional step to Submit the Log Entries. The CERT: Knowledge Points request form does not require this additional step which makes it the preferred option.

What is the deadline to submit knowledge points?
All requests for Knowledge points must be submitted in the school year in which they were earned. Points earned from Aug. 1 through July 31 must be submitted no later than Aug. 31 of that year.
