Our school is located in the heartland of the United States. The Olathe Unified School District is a major school district in the Kansas City Metropolitan Area and the second largest school district in the state of Kansas. We are a community school serving approximately 425 students. Millbrooke opened in August of 2014 at 11751 S. Sunnybrook Boulevard on the west side of Olathe.
We are committed to serving the students in our community and helping them to become leaders of themselves, others and the community. We began the process of implementing Stephen Covey’s leadership model of the “7 Habits" by studying his book, The Leader in Me, during the 2014-2015 school year. After completing training, we have now been rewarded the Lighthouse School of Distinction. In 2021-22, Millbrooke made the Franklin Covey list of Academic Honor Roll schools.
Our school has a positive climate, embracing the philosophy of school-wide Positive Behavior Supports. As a school, we focus on three behavioral expectations: I am Kind, I am Responsible and I am Respectful. The staff has worked together to design a matrix to define expectations in each area of the building. The expectations are taught and practiced to help everyone at Millbrooke know and follow these expectations. Students demonstrating expectations will be given Leader Loot, which becomes currency for rewards.
